What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a skin exfoliation procedure which uses a sharp dermaplaning tool (think of a surgical scalpel) to gently remove layers of dead skin along with the small fine hairs on your face. Areas where dermaplaning are used is that of your forehead, cheeks, chin, nose, and neck. Typically performed by a licensed esthetician, it is performed by very gently scraping the surface of your face in soft feathering strokes to remove any build up. Then we use a warm towel to remove the scrub and begin our extraction process of your pores. Once we have completed, we use an antiseptic toner to remove bacteria on the skins surface. Then we begin our demaplane process by gently scraping with a scalpel at a 45 degree angle to remove peach fuzz and dead skin cells. Next we apply serums to for maximum absorption as well as a specialty mask, like collagen to penetrate. Last we apply moisturizer and SPF30 or higher to protect from the sun.
